What we did

Sleek MakeUP first established its modest office in East London in 1985, providing highly pigmented cosmetics aimed at an inclusive market. Given that options were often limited during those decades, they expanded from wholesale commerce to the high street within a short span of 35 years. They chose STEEL London and Exchequer Dynamics to create a new retail e-commerce solution, integrating Advanced Exchequer with the Adobe Commerce Enterprise e-commerce engine.

The project was divided between the two collaborating teams to take on their respective areas of expertise. STEEL, a Adobe Commerce Silver Partner rolled out the design and Adobe Commerce platform to prepare Sleek MakeUp’s e-commerce online presence. Exchequer Dynamics provided the integration between Adobe Commerce and Advanced Exchequer using the ExFusion Server platform for the synchronisation of data between either system..

Considering their unique range of cosmetics, Sleek MakeUP is consistently growing its market share across EMEA. They needed an enterprise e-commerce cluster capable of coping with scaling web requests and virtual real-time transactions from their website to Advanced Exchequer, and vice versa.

Following years of success on the UK high street, Sleek MakeUP became part of the internationally renowned Walgreens Boots Alliance family in 2015. Their products are now sold in 15 countries and within over 2,200 stores globally. Their online presence has exceeded expectations, their cosmetics now sold as part of household names such as Amazon, ASOS, THG and The Beauty Store. 

While Exchequer Dynamics initially assisted in integrating with Adobe Commerce, we helped with their transition following the acquisition by Boots. Integrating Advanced Exchequer with Alloga Warehouse Management System to manage the logistics of their stock, they later opted to streamline their internal processes with an alternative route for their long term accountancy needs. Boots requested for our migration services, and we took the time to scope with them the data that they needed for Sleek MakeUp’s ongoing historical use. We migrated them away from Advanced Exchequer with the archiving of their data in their digital infrastructure for future reference.
